Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council has completed an upgrade to its CCTV system with new cameras installed across the borough.

The upgrade includes a conversion from an analogue to a digital system, which provides many benefits, such as the ability to capture clearer images, increased zoom functions, and a better breadth of coverage.

New cameras have been installed in ‘hotspot’ locations across the Borough as well as inside Council housing blocks to provide better protection for the public and ensure enhanced crime prevention.

As well as new cameras, new monitors have also been installed in the Council’s CCTV control room.

Assistant Director for Economy, Jonathan White, said:

“This CCTV upgrade gives improved security and protection to residents and the wider public of Nuneaton and Bedworth.

“The new cameras offer enhanced capabilities and much clearer images to help us target any potential criminal activities and catch any associated culprits.

“The Council is committed in its plight to combat anti-social behaviour and crime, and these new capabilities will help us to do just that.”
