Housing Benefit is a means tested benefit and the amount you receive will depend on your personal circumstances.
Claim for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support
You can also use this form if you are a pensioner and wish to apply for second adult rebate.
You can only claim Housing Benefit if:
- You have reached state pension age
- You live in specified supported or temporary accommodation (if you are unsure, contact the benefits team)
If your circumstances do not match one or more of the above, you must apply for Universal Credit.
If you receive Universal Credit, you can apply for council tax support to help pay your Council Tax.
Council tax support
Council Tax Support is a means tested benefit and the amount you receive will depend on your personal circumstances.
You can apply for Council Tax Support to help pay for the Council Tax for the home you live in.
