An exciting opportunity to meet costumed characters, handle objects, and learn about the Elizabethan period as well as having fun in a free family event at Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery this weekend.
Paul from Guarderobe will be bringing an Elizabethan gentleman to life, allowing visitors find out about food, festivals, and faith in Elizabethan England, this Saturday, 3 October, from 11am until 4pm.
Everything will be demonstrated with a song, tune, or story by talented musicians, Archaedium, who are a music group specialising in Renaissance guitars and brass instruments, such as Cornetts, and Mute Trumpets.
They will give play music as well as give talks about the historical instruments used during the Elizabethan period.
Younger visitors will be able to get crafty with a Tudor-themed creation and there will also be a second-hand book stall to help the Museum to raise funds.
This wonderful and free Tudor-themed family event is guaranteed to be plenty of fun and entertainment for all the family.
Cllr Bobbie Greenwood, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Health, said:
“Events like this are a great way for families to discover more about our history in a fun and engaging setting.
“From historical objects, to enjoying live music, and getting creative with Tudor-inspired crafts, there really is something for everyone.
“We’re delighted to offer this event free of charge at Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery, giving families the opportunity to step back in time and experience a fascinating period of history together.”
As with all the shows, admission is free, though donations are always welcomed, and there are also several temporary exhibitions to enjoy throughout the building.
