As the World Cup finals approach, many across the Borough will enjoy celebrations and barbecues and this is likely to mean there will be lots of extra materials to recycle and place in your brown bin.
If you are unsure what to recycle you can check out our barbecue recycling advice for more information.
There are many items that you can recycle including paper, cardboard, tins, glass, mixed glass, cartons and most plastic bottles, excluding hard plastics.
During this tournament there will be many extra aluminium cans which can be recycled in your brown-lid bin and could be back on the shelves in as little as 60 days, but disposable barbecues cannot be recycled in your brown-lid bin and can be taken to Judkins Recycling Centre.
Recycling saves resources, protects natural habitats and the environment, saves energy and reduces landfill and is estimated to save more than 18 million tonnes of CO2 each year, equivalent to taking five million cars off the road.

Cllr Shane Coates-Jarman, Portfolio Holder for Planning, Enforcement and Public Services, said
“With the anticipated increase in recyclable products during an event like the World Cup, it is fantastic that residents in Nuneaton and Bedworth can enjoy cheering on their favourite teams and recycle more while helping to reduce the impact on our planet.”
