This free, Victorian Family Event Day will take place on Saturday, March 21, between 11:00am and 4:00pm. There is no need to book, just drop in!
There will be so much to see and do during the day, come along and join us to discover how our world has changed dramatically since the Victorian era.
Veteran of the Boer Wars, Captain Wyatt, who is now employed as Her Majesty’s bodyguard, will be present to take part in discussions about his life and times.
Marvel at the latest in Victorian entertainment at one of the magic lantern shows, with performances taking place at 11:15, 1:00pm, 2:30pm and 3:30pm.
Visitors will be able to find out more about the scientific and technological advancements that took place during the Victorian period, such as the incandescent light bulb and steam power.
Younger visitors can get creative and make their own jigsaw puzzle.
Not forgetting Nuneaton’s famous Victorian writer, George Eliot, visitors will be able to view and handle objects relating to her early life between 11:00am and 1:30pm.
During the afternoon, a second-hand book stall will also be on offer, to raise funds for the museum.
Councillor Brady Hughes, Portfolio holder for Leisure and Health said:
“It’s great that the museum can provide free events suitable for all ages.
“What a fun way to delve into the Victorian era with such wonderful activities!”
Remember, as with all the exhibitions, admission is FREE though donations are always welcomed.
