You can now sign up to the 2026-2027 green bin collection service.
If you sign up before Friday, 16 January, you will receive your permit sticker in time for the start of the new service on Monday, 2 February 2026, and you will not miss collections.
The service costs £45 per bin per year. Residents can sign up for the service at any point throughout the year, however there are no discounts if residents sign up at a later date.
If you are subscribed to the current 2025/26 service, you will continue to receive collections until Friday, 16 January 2026.
There are no green bin collections for the last two weeks of January 2026 to allow for crew training.
Cllr Kath Price, Portfolio Holder for Environment and Public Services, said:
“Now is a great time to sign up to the green bin service in readiness for collections beginning Monday, 2 February 2026, the service can be used for all garden and food waste.
“Bin collection changes due to bank holidays over Christmas and New Year, will affect those residents who’s bin day is a Thursday or Friday.
“Please be sure to put out your bin by 7am on rescheduled collections so that missed collections won’t affect your festive period.”
