Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council is confirming its commitment to the environment by setting up more Electric Vehicle charging points.
The Council is currently out to tender for EV charging points for its new developments at Grayson Place and Bedworth Physical Activity Hub.
These charging points will be available early in the new year in Grayson Place car park.
The tender will provide 24 charging points across the two locations and provide the opportunity for a further roll out of EV charging points across all Council owned off street car parking.
This comes after the introduction of new pay stations earlier this year, which give users the chance of flexible payments and online payment systems and reporting.
The authority is also currently in discussion with Warwickshire County Council about opportunities to upgrade and increase the number of charging points available across the borough on streets.
Cllr Chris Watkins, Leader of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, said:
“The EV Charging points are the next step in updating Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council’s car parking provision.
“This follows the introduction of new pay stations earlier this year, offering flexible payments and online payment systems and reporting.
“We are wholeheartedly committed to encouraging the use of electric vehicles in our Borough and these steps will help realise this.’’
