New look website launched

On Wednesday, 21 February, we launched our new look website.

Our current website has around 40,000 visitors per month providing a gateway to local services for residents, visitors, and businesses.

As before, the new site will provide information to enable people to request and apply for services and pay bills and invoices.

It's the first website revamp in eight years, and is more robust and secure, makes our content easier to navigate, and ensures a mobile-friendly experience as more than 60% of customers access our website using a mobile device.

It was designed in consultation with residents and other stakeholders, with suggestions and ideas contributing to the final design.

Continual improvement

The launch of the new site is the first step to delivering a site that works for everyone. There are more exciting updates coming throughout 2024 and beyond, and the Council will continue to work with residents to deliver improvements that make this possible.

Accessibility

The new site must meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2) accessibility standard, making it easier for more users to access local information and services.

Web accessibility means designing a website so that disabled people can access the same information and do the same things that a non-disabled person can.
