Tree works covered by a tree preservation order
If you wish to carry out works to tree(s) protected by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO), you must make an application for tree works via the National Planning Portal.
Alternatively, you can download the application form from the Planning Portal website and submit this to the Council directly via post or email.
All applications submitted to the Council will be validated in accordance with the adopted Local Validation Checklist and the Planning Practice Guide's information on trees protected by a Tree Preservation Order. Officers will use this to make sure that all applications have the necessary and appropriate supporting information required for the Planning Team to assess and evaluate applications thoroughly and efficiently.
What happens when I submit my tree works order
We will acknowledge receipt of your application, consult with neighbouring properties as required, and then assess the application and notify you of the decision.
- While the Council grants consent for the works, responsibility for the trees remains with the owner
