Tree works covered by a tree preservation order
If you wish to carry out works to tree(s) protected by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO), you must make an application for tree works via the Planning Portal.
Alternatively, you can download the application form from the Planning Portal website found here and submit this to the Council directly via post or email at planning@nuneatonandbedworth.gov.uk.
All applications submitted to the Council will be validated in accordance with the adopted Local Validation Checklist. Officers will use this to make sure that all applications have the necessary and appropriate supporting information required for the Planning Team to assess and evaluate applications thoroughly and efficiently. Works to trees protected by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) applications will be validated using this checklist and guidance as explained in the Planning Practice Guide found here. The relevant information can be found from paragraph 0058 onwards.
What happens when I submit my tree works order
We will acknowledge receipt of your application, consult with neighbouring properties as required, and then assess the application and notify you of the decision.
- While the Council grants consent for the works, responsibility for the trees remains with the owner.
