Conservation areas
Conservation areas are areas of special architectural or historic interest, the character or appearance of which it is desirable to preserve or enhance.
They are designated locally by us and include town centres, villages, and residential areas.
To make changes to a property or develop land within a conservation area, you should check with us to see what restrictions may be in place before starting works.
Land and property within a conservation area may have extra planning restrictions in place in order to protect the special character of the area.
