Renewing a grave lease
You can currently lease a grave for a 50 year period, which is renewable at the end of a lease.
Reasons to renew an expired lease:
- Ownership is required for future burials to take place.
- Ownership is required to inter cremated remains.
- Ownership is required to erect a new headtone or add an inscription.
If you choose not to extend the lease then none of the above can be authorised and it is possible the expired rights could be purchased by another person.
Application to renew and fees
- An application form is required to extend the lease
- The fee is currently calculated on pro-rata based on the original purchase price. To find out the exact fee, contact our office and we can calculate this for you.
