Skills area and trails

Use the skills area to give a taste of what to expect on the other trails around the park and to help develop mountain bike riding skills. The green trails are easier, and the blue trails are a little harder in the skills area.

Newdigate trail (green)

Suitable for beginner/novice cyclists with basic bike skills required and is suitable for most bikes, including disability bikes and hybrids. The surface is relatively flat, wide and the climbs and descents are mostly shallow with no challenging features.

This trail is suitable for most people in good health.

Hawkesbury trail (blue)

Suitable for intermediate cyclist mountain bikers with basic off-road riding skills and is only suitable for mountain or hybrid bikes.

The trail consists of specially constructed single track in which the trail surface will include small obstacles of root, rock and most gradients are moderate but may include short steep sections.

This trail will include rollers (bumps) and berms (banked turns).

A good standard of fitness is suggested for this trail.

Woodlands trail (red)

Suitable only for proficient mountain bikers with good off-road riding skills, using better-quality off-road mountain bikes due to the steeper and tougher singletrack with technical sections.

Expect very variable surface types and a wide range of climbs and descents of a challenging nature and expect boardwalks, berms, rocks, steps, drop-offs, and cambers.

A higher level of fitness, stamina and technique is advised for this trail.
