Destination parks

Our Destination Parks are the three biggest in the borough and collectively cover an area of over 120 hectares. There is lots to see and do for all the family at these beautiful parks:

  • walk the Heritage Sculpture Trail at Whittleford Park
  • keep fit with the outdoor gym or skate park at Miners' Welfare Park
  • relax and enjoy the stunning formal gardens at Riversley Park

Riversley Park

With its expanse of grass, beautiful flower bed displays and commemorative war memorials, Riversley Park is the perfect setting to house Nuneaton’s museum, art gallery and café and also features:

  • Louis's Park - an innovative and exciting play area with water & sand play and climbing tower
  • the River Anker gently winds through the park, splitting it into two
  • period bandstand, which has been a feature since the park’s opening in 1907
  • easy access to the Pingles Leisure Centre, home to an Olympic-sized swimming pool and gym
  • tennis courts and a foot golf course
  • public car park

Miners' Welfare Park

From sports and play facilities to wildlife areas, you’ll never be at a loss for something to do at Miners' Welfare Park, with features including:

  • state of the art children’s play area with water play, sandpit and green play, including sensory play
  • beautiful formal gardens
  • extensive sports facilities including skate park, outdoor gym, disc golf, cricket and football pitches, bowls, pitch and putt and tennis and netball
  • Bedworth Leisure Centre lies on the outskirts of the park
  • wildlife area including a lake and pond
  • The Mayor’s Café
  • Johnson Pavilion

Whittleford Park

Whittleford Park spans across 43 hecatres and this countryside park is the largest of our three destinations parks, meaning there’s lots to explore. The park includes three lakes, a pond and a marsh area and other features including:

  • large expanse of woodland and beautiful meadows
  • outdoor gym, multi-use games area and toddlers play area
  • picnic area with seating, so you can have a bite to eat and take in the views
  • heritage sculpture trail
  • football pitches
