Grass cutting update

Published on Wednesday, 13th July 2016

Update on June 28th statement on grounds maintenance.

Ian Lloyd, portfolio holder for Arts and Leisure, said: “The situation is improving, the grass growth has slowed down and standards are returning to an acceptable level.  We continue to work with Glendale to ensure that this improvement continues now and going forward and this includes works like obstacle maintenance and clearance of vegetation from footways and public footpaths.

“The bird nesting season is due to come to an end in the next couple of weeks, at which point we will commence with our hedge maintenance programme across the borough.

“Glendale have continued to work evenings and weekends to catch up and keep on top on the works and we continue to monitor the situation. There has been no additional cost to the council for the extra works.

“Can I once again thank members of the public for being patient and apologise for any inconvenience.”
