Museum receives a very special message from far far away ...

Published on Monday, 13th June 2016

Team members at the museum have been celebrating receiving a message of support  from Nuneaton born film director Gareth Edwards, about their current Sci Fi exhibition 'Galaxy in the Gallery'.

The exhibition showcases rare items from collection of Craig Spivey, including favourites which are sure to bring back childhood memories.

In the email Gareth wishes the museum luck with the display and says that he hopes that the merchandise from his new film “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” will inspire the same kind of love.  His message is now proudly displayed within the exhibition.

The exhibition is on display from now until 10 July 2016 and forms part of the Nuneaton Lives programme.

The exhibition includes;

  • Rare items from the ‘Rulers of the Galaxy’ display - this section of the show highlights some rare Helix items. The show has been supported by Black-Country-based Helix Maped, and a panel is featured in the show which explains how they were able to create themed stationery for pocket-money prices.
  • Our Dress-Up Station - Kids can live the dream and try on our array of bits and pieces to look like their favourite characters.

Remember admission is FREE and there are also our other displays to enjoy throughout the building.  In addition to our events, activities and permanent displays there is also chance to see:

The Drawbridge Art Group - on show until 10 July

and

Ruth Watkins: Nuts: Bolts: Birds - on show until 7 August.
