Reply to the 'Easter Eggstravaganza’

In response to the Nuneaton News article concerning the Council’s 'Easter Eggstravaganza’ town centre entertainment, NBBC offers the following statement:
We have two fantastic town centres and work positively with local traders to promote them.
The entertainment we organised for the Easter weekend formed part of our on-going strategy to increase footfall and further boost local trade in Nuneaton and Bedworth town centres. Our town centre retailers welcomed the move and the feedback was extremely positive.
The spend of £514 on Easter eggs included prizes for a school competition, where each entrant received a small chocolate egg as a prize if they came into town over the weekend. This encouraged young families to visit our town centres and enjoy the entertainment.
“We are extremely proud of our town centres and will continue to do all we can to support local businesses. The Easter entertainment was wonderful and well-received by local residents and traders alike. The quality and variety of the entertainment on offer was second to none and set our towns apart from others that weekend; for local families choosing where to go over Easter, Nuneaton and Bedworth were obvious choices!”
Dennis Harvey, Leader of the Council
