One of the works on show at the Museuem

The exhibition runs until Saturday, 7 November, at Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery and features the work of the Midlands Textile Forum.

The group was created in 2007 by Annette Lucas with the aim of raising profile and bringing together textile-based artists into a cohesive group.

It has tripled in size since and has exhibited in places like NSA Gallery (Nottingham), Nature in Art (Gloucestershire) and the Town Hall in Ledbury.

This year the Forum is exhibiting its work at Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery.

The Exhibition is textile-based artwork – print, stitch, weave etc, using various materials and techniques, with an emphasis on creativity, experimentation and each member’s own interpretation of the exhibition title.

The exhibition targets all textile enthusiasts, art students, and school pupils.

The work is of a high standard, showing excellent use of varying techniques plus interesting concepts and ideas, researched and based on the title as a theme.

Cllr Bobbie Greenwood, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Health, said:

“There are many different artworks to be viewed, varying in size, and visual imagery and many of the works are for sale.

“Come along to Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery to see this talented display of textile creativity.

“We would love to hear your thoughts on your experience and about the exhibition.’’

As with all the shows, admission is free, though donations are always welcomed, and there are also several temporary exhibitions to enjoy throughout the building.
