Bumper boost for Bedworth parks and we need your views

The funding criteria states that it benefits the Bedworth area only.

The sites chosen are Collycroft Recreation Ground or Bailey Park, Johnson Road Play Area, and Heckley Recreation Ground.

What this funding Means for Bedworth:

• Upgrade or refurbish three existing playgrounds across the local area
• No cost to local taxpayers
• Two-year delivery across the 2026/27 and 2027/28 financial years
• Focus on inclusion to make existing play more modern and accessible so children of all physical and learning abilities can play together

The Government requires local councils to design these play spaces in partnership with local families.

We need parents, carers, and children to help us choose:

• The right locations: Which of the identified existing playgrounds in Bedworth are in most urgent need of a makeover?
• The right equipment: What features are missing? (such as more accessible swings, sensory play areas, better seating for parents, or climbing frames for older chlildren)
• Safety improvements: What would make you feel safer using these spaces? (such as better fencing, clearer visibility, or updated flooring)

How to Have Your Say

The Council has identified the sites that could benefit from improvements, which are all within the Built-Up Area (BUA) specified by Government for the funding.

We would like to know your thoughts on which of the sites you would like to see redeveloped and then what type of play facilities you would like to see and have produced a survey questionnaire as part of the consultation for residents to complete. The survey closes on Friday, 25 September.
