Nuneaton-born artist Carrie Boal is set to bring her exhibition “Not a Vista – an encounter” to Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery this Saturday, 29 August.
Carrie’s work is known to be abstract, expressionist and contemporary, taking inspiration by the likes of Frank Auerbach, Cy Twombly, and Helen Frankenthaler.
She finds her muse in nature, using a range of mediums to work spontaneously, and create works which she hopes to communicate the feeling that nature invokes in us.
Carrie was born in Nuneaton and raised in Atherstone. She now lives in Nuneaton and has done for the last 24 years.
She recently completed an MA in Fine Arts and has exhibited in RBSA Gallery in Birmingham for the last two years.
Visitors might recognise her work from the ‘Art in the Streets Exhibition’ which she participated in last year.
Carrie’s exhibition contains 14 pieces of colour saturated art that have been curated using pastel on fabric, ink ion fabric, crayon on fabric, and acrylic on canvas boards.
Cllr Bobbie Greenwood, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Health, said:
“It’s fantastic to see local talent recognised and celebrated at our museum.
“This is an excellent exhibition, and I am sure visitors to our museum will find viewing it a rewarding experience.”
As with all the shows, admission is free, though donations are always welcomed, and there are also several temporary exhibitions to enjoy throughout the building.
