Visitors to Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery will be able to touch and examine items related to local comedy legend Larry Grayson.
The items will include personal objects owned by Larry as well as photographs and scrapbooks which have never been displayed before.
The photographs include both Larry on stage as well as relaxing with friends and family.
These objects will be out for one day only, Saturday, 15 August, so this is not to be missed by Larry’s fans.
The Hands-on History events represent a unique opportunity to handle some of the wonderful artefacts from the Museum’s collections.
The sessions are free and there is no need to book. Drop in anytime between 11am and 3:30pm in the White Gallery.
Cllr Bobbie Greenwood, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Health, said:
“Larry was a well-known comedian and much-loved local man.
“This is a great opportunity to find out more about him through the museum collections.
“The Museum’s handling sessions enable visitors to feel the excitement of real history in their hands!”
While at the Museum why not check out the temporary exhibitions.
It’s the last week to see A Life in Pictures by Gerald Ball, featuring a selection of works by a local artist.
You can also visit Ismatjahan’s World by Ismatjahan Ravat, featuring works inspired by textiles and garments that she wears.
Our newest exhibition is Ingenious Gadgets by Maurice Collins which features 100 objects.
Admission is free though donations are always welcome.
