The programme of work will see three areas of the Town Hall roof replaced.
The nature and location of the works will require the erection of scaffolding to the rear of the town hall and as a result, approximately six parking bays at the rear of the building will be unavailable for the duration of the project.
This will include the existing disabled parking bays and we are exploring options to provide temporary accessible parking facilities wherever practicable. Access to the rear entrance will be maintained
Subject to final confirmation, works are scheduled to start on Monday, 24 August, and are expected to take approximately eight weeks.
Cllr Jake Groves, Portfolio Holder for Town Centre Regeneration and Business Development, said:
“While every effort will be made to minimise disruption, some inconvenience is unavoidable during the construction period.
“We appreciate your patience and understanding as these essential maintenance works are carried out to protect and preserve the Town Hall.’’
Following an inspection at Bedworth Civic Hall, it was found the existing chimney requires removal for safety reasons.
To allow the works, the contractor will require the use of part of the parking area, together with the adjacent yellow hatched section, to accommodate a skip and debris chute.
This area will need to be unavailable for approximately four weeks, with occupation expected to start on Monday, 10 August, to allow for site establishment.
The chimney works are scheduled to start on Monday, 17 August, and are expected to take approximately two to three weeks subject to weather conditions and site progress.
