A temporary path diversion will be in place in the Miners’ Welfare Park in Bedworth, with the targeted dates being Wednesday, 12 August, and the following day.
The diversion is necessary due to Tarmac works being undertaken on the main new oval path at the park and will unavoidably route those coming in as pedestrians and cyclists at the current Black Bank entrance onto a longer route that does involve a significant hill within the park.
Other alternative access would be to come in from the north of the park and explanatory signage is to be put up during the diversion.
Cllr Bobbie Greenwood, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Health, said:
“We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.
“Throughout the Bedworth Physical Activity Hub project, we have sought to keep disruption to the public to a minimum but occasionally we must ask for everyone’s tolerance and understanding to allow us to get certain parts of the permanent path network put into place.
“Rapid progress is now being made on the external paths and the skatepark is very close to completion about which we will make a separate announcement soon.’’
The Bedworth Physical Activity Hub opened in March 2026 and was brought to fruition with the help of £2.5 million funding from Sport England, representing one of the most significant investments in leisure facilities the borough has ever seen.
It brings a cutting-edge leisure destination that transforms how residents get active, connect and enjoy their free time.
