Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council has successfully launched its new planning system, Idox Cloud, marking a major step forward in modernising how planning services are delivered.
The new system replaces a decades-old platform and provides planning officers with modern, digital tools to support more efficient and effective working.
Idox Cloud brings a range of benefits to the planning process by providing greater automation, reducing administrative workload, and boosting efficiency.
The system also equips officers with tools to support a more mobile approach.
Visitors to the portal will now benefit from improved digital experiences, streamlining interactions between the Council, applicants and residents.
The system includes a public portal which provides a user-friendly route to view and comment on planning applications and associated information.
Users will also have access to submit pre-application enquiries and enforcement requests online through the portal.
The Council remains committed to offering fully inclusive services to all residents, with telephone and in person help still available via customer services for those unable to access the portal.
The authority would like to thank residents, applicants and stakeholders for their patience and understanding during the period of downtime to implement the new system.
Cllr Shane Coates-Jarman, Portfolio Holder for Planning, Enforcement and Public Services, said:
“We are pleased to see this new system go live.
“Idox Cloud will give our planning team the tools they need to improve efficiency in making planning decisions for our community.
“This administration is committed to modernising services, and this upgrade represents a big jump in the right direction.
“We thank residents and applicants for their patience during this short disruption and hope that they will appreciate the new digital services on offer.”
