Town Crier Paul Gough at the Museum

Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery was pleased to welcome Paul Gough, Nuneaton and Bedworth’s Town Crier to its markets’ exhibition.

Paul was delighted to view his predecessor’s costume and bell currently on display at the museum.

He joined the more than four thousand people who have already visited the display which is full of local paintings and photographs.

Within the exhibition you can find out more about how Nuneaton first got its market over 800 years ago and how the town helped to inspire the creation of the Riot Act.

Cllr Bobbie Greenwood, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Health, said:

“We are delighted that so many people have seen this superb exhibition so far.

“The display has been described as interesting and fascinating by visitors and we would urge people to come and see it before it ends on Saturday, 11 July.

“This is just one of a host of activities which take place at our wonderful Museum & Art Gallery throughout the year.’’

There are also activities for children including a sliding tile challenge, toy farm and replica items to handle.

While at the Museum why not check out the temporary exhibitions.

Admission is free though donations are always welcome.
