Local artists, creatives, cultural organisations, businesses from all sectors are invited to attend a series of upcoming workshops to help shape the future of arts and culture across the borough.

The borough has a rich heritage of arts, and this initiative builds on the success of Creative Explorers and the borough’s recognition as a recipient of the Creative People & Places Programme.

The programmes helped transform the way people across the borough engage with arts and culture, and now the community will be able to play their part through the development of the Nuneaton & Bedworth Cultural Compact.

The sessions will take place at Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery and are open to everyone with an interest in supporting and growing the local creative community.

Workshop dates

  • Tuesday, 16 June: 8:45am to 10:30am
  • Tuesday, 23 June: 8:45am to 10:30am

The Cultural Compact aims to strengthen collaboration between the creative sector, community organisations, local businesses, and public partners to support long-term cultural development across Nuneaton and Bedworth.

Cllr Bobbie Greenwood, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Health, said:

“We want residents, community groups and local organisations to help shape the future of arts and culture in our borough.

“These workshops are an opportunity to share ideas, work collaboratively, and ensure the Cultural Impact strategy reflects the aspirations of our communities.

“I encourage anyone with an interest in culture, heritage, and the arts to get involved.”

Over the coming year, the Cultural Compact programme will focus on:

  • Developing a website and shared platform
  • Recruiting an independent Chair on a short-term contract (anticipated from September 2026)
  • Establishing an appropriate legal structure
  • Creating a shared action plan for the Compact’s future

These workshops will provide an opportunity for attendees to share ideas, identify priorities, and help develop a shared vision for culture in the borough.
