One of the Museum’s most popular paintings is being featured by Art UK along with a story by Curator Sinead Behan.
Art UK is a charity with the mission of making art publicly available for everyone and is a digital platform that exhibits public art collections, with around a million artworks from 3,500 UK institutions.
From time to time the site features works of art and this month’s is Home on Leave From France by Robert Morley.
Alongside the picture is a story by the museum’s Curator Sinead Behan.
Sinead has been part of an initiative by Art Uk to develop digital skills at galleries across the country.
To see the story go to Home from the First World War: a close look at Robert Morley's soldier scene
You can also see many of Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery’s pictures on the website and buy prints of them.
To celebrate the picture’s national moment, the painting itself is on display in the museum’s White Gallery during May and June.
Home on Leave from France depicts a soldier, recently returned from war, re-uniting with his beloved daughter who embraces him and his dog who rests his head affectionately on his owner’s lap.
The painting uniquely captures the moment through using warm colours to show the relief and longing to be re-united the family felt after years of separation.
A spokesperson for the Museum said:
