The Council would like to provide an update on the introduction of our new planning software system, which will modernise services and improve customer experience.
Following further work with our software supplier, the planned go-live date has been rescheduled and is now expected to take place in summer 2026, rather than spring as originally anticipated.
This revised timetable reflects some unexpected technical challenges identified during the preparation and testing phase.
A spokesperson for the Council said:
“We are working closely and constructively with our supplier to address these issues and to ensure the new system is stable, secure, and delivers the improvements expected for residents, applicants, and local businesses.
“We are working hard with our supplier to minimise this delay and will publish more detail once we are able to confirm the transition dates.
“We remain focused on ensuring successful delivery of the new planning system and delivering a smooth transition with minimal disruption to the public.”
In the meantime, the Planning Team will continue to process planning applications using the existing system.
Updates on the revised implementation timetable, including any planned downtime, will be shared as soon as further details are available via our website and social media channels.
The spokesperson added:
“We appreciate the patience and understanding of residents, applicants, and agents during this time.”
