During the tour the Minister praised the ambition behind the project and the clear focus on delivering long term benefits for residents across the borough.

By seeing the facilities first hand-hand, the Minister was able to appreciate the impact of investment in the community.

Stephanie Peacock MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Sport, Media, Civil Society and Youth, said:

“It was fantastic to visit Bedworth’s new Physical Activity Hub and see what a difference this incredible project will make to people’s lives - not just now, but for generations to come.

"From an eight-lane community swimming pool to a Reformer Pilates studio and sports hall, facilities like these do wonders for peoples’ pride in where they live. They offer a place for communities to come together and help children and adults alike live more active, healthier lives.”

Rachel Taylor, MP for North Warwickshire and Bedworth, said:

“As a former Wimbledon umpire and line judge, I’m passionate about making sure everyone has access to world-class sport and exercise facilities. That’s why I’m absolutely delighted to see the new Bedworth Physical Activity Hub open, and to welcome the Minister for today’s tour.

This outstanding new facility marks the start of an exciting new chapter for our town. With £20 million in government Pride in Place funding on the horizon, alongside new investment in the town centre, the NHS, and local schools, there is real momentum behind Bedworth’s regeneration — and I couldn’t be more excited about what the future holds.”

Lisa Dodd-Mayne, Executive Director, Partnerships and Place, Sport England, said:

“The doors are open and it’s clear to see that the Hub is far more than a sports and physical activity facility. It has been thoughtfully designed and built to bring communities together, connecting people with the active environment right on their doorstep and helping them make the most of the nearby green spaces.

“We are confident that our investment will make a real difference for the residents of Nuneaton and Bedworth, improving lives by creating welcoming places and spaces – both indoors and outdoors – where people can be active.”

Adam Harding, Regional Director, BAM UK & Ireland, said:

“Every part of the Hub, from the swimming pools and sports hall to the fitness and wellbeing spaces, has been designed and built with the community in mind.

“Delivering a project of this scale required close collaboration between BAM, Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, Everyone Active and the wider project team. Seeing the Hub ready to make a lasting, positive impact shows what can be achieved when partners share a clear vision.

“Together we have created facilities that strengthen, connect, and benefit communities well beyond the build.”

This visit marks a proud moment for Bedworth and reflects the Council’s commitment to delivering first-class infrastructure that supports healthier, stronger and more connected lifestyles for years to come.

Bedworth Physical Activity Hub represents a landmark investment in local health, wellbeing and community in the Borough.
