Two officers from Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council were among invited guests at a royal reception hosted by His Majesty The King and Queen Camilla at St James’s Palace.
Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council's Matt Wallbank, Assistant Director for Democracy and Governance, and Sara Warne, Environmental Health Officer, were among the 350 guests from local authorities across Great Britain and Northern Ireland invited to St James's Palace to recognise the contribution of local and regional government and public service employees to communities across the UK.
The reception, which took place on Tuesday, 3 February, brought together representatives from a wide range of public service roles, including head teachers, social workers, and public health professionals.
The event provided an opportunity for attendees to meet the King and Queen and to reflect on the important role local authorities play in supporting residents and delivering essential services.
Cllr Steve Hey, Leader of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, said:
“This was a proud moment for the Council and for our Borough.
“Matt and Sara represent the dedication and professionalism of our workforce, and it is fitting that their work, and that of local government officers across the country, was recognised at this event.”
Matt and Sara said they were honoured to attend the reception and to represent the borough of Nuneaton and Bedworth on a national stage.
