At an Extraordinary Council meeting held this evening, Wednesday, 21 January, councillors considered a motion of no confidence in Council Leader Cllr Chris Watkins.
The motion was carried, and Cllr Watkins was removed as Leader of the Council.
Cllr Steve Hey was subsequently elected Leader of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council and will assume the role with immediate effect.
The Council will continue to operate under the existing administration.
