Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery is inviting former students and tutors from Nuneaton School of Art to a reunion event early next year.

The invite is open to alumni from the school and its incarnations within North Warwickshire and Hinckley College and North Warwickshire and South Hinckley College Art Departments.

The event is taking place on Saturday, 17 January, between 11am and 3pm at Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery.

On the day as well as an exhibition about the History of the School of Art and the show of work there will a reminiscence café within the meeting space.

There will be a chance to have a drink, a biscuit and a chat along with memories, images and news clippings out for visitors to look through to get the memories going.

We will also be screening the film we made in 2017 with former students. If you have any photographs of your own, please bring them along.

In the Yellow Gallery the museum access assistants will be getting out logbooks, syllabuses, and artworks created by former students to handle and look through.

We very much hope you will join us for this trip down memory lane.

If you can it would be useful if you could confirm if you are planning to attend by emailing museum@nuneatonandbedworth.gov.uk or calling 024 7637 6158, so we can ensure there is sufficient refreshments.

Cllr Brady Hughes, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture, said:

“It is great to be able to celebrate the Nuneaton School of Art and the creativity which it produced both in the past and now.

“We very much hope you will join us for this trip down memory lane.

“It will be if you can confirm if you are planning to attend so we can ensure we have sufficient refreshments.

“I urge former students and tutors to get involved and come along to the reunion.’’

The museum closes for Christmas on Saturday, 20 December, at 4:30pm and reopens on Thursday, 1 January, at 10:30 am.

While at the museum, why not check out the temporary exhibitions. Admission is free though donations are always welcome.
