Paul Thompson

There is still time to book a place at this week’s Lunchtime Talk - The Greenfly and The Rose, Life in the SOE - taking place this Friday, 14 November, from 12:30 to 13:30pm.

Popular speaker Paul Thompson is back to reveal the secrets of the Special Operations Executive (SOE) agents during the Second World War.

Would you have the nerve to become an SOE agent? Under the threat of imminent German invasion, Major Thompson will instruct you in the basic “arts” and “dirty tricks” needed by the network of the Special Operations Executives to keep the “Greenfly” under control.

Learn how to find and how to pass your ciphered messages on; German unit recognition plus basic bayonet and grenade drill.

Booking is essential as places are limited to 55. To book a FREE place, please call the Museum on 024 7637 6158 or email museum@nuneatonandbedworth.gov.uk

Cllr Brady Hughes, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Health, said:

“I’m delighted that the Lunchtime Talks programme hosted by Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery continues to grow in popularity.

"These fantastic free talks are both entertaining and informative and are a great way to spend a lunch hour.”

While at the museum, why not check out the temporary exhibitions. The Made in the Middle exhibition is a celebration of contemporary craft from across the Midlands.

Admission is free though donations are always welcome.
