Bailey Park rose bed prepared for planting

Bailey Park in Bedworth will soon be a mass of colour all ready for the winter.

The rose beds at the park in Marston Lane, have been stripped of the old roses which were past their best.

They will be replanted with four new varieties or similar:

  • Rosa “Rugosa ‘Rubra”
  • Rosa “Rugosa ‘Alba”
  • Rosa “Ballerina”
  • Rosa “Canary Showground”

Glendale, who provide grounds maintenance, landscaping and winter maintenance services on behalf of the Council, hope to complete the planting during November.

Cllr Brady Hughes, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Health, said:

“This really is great news for visitors to Bailey Park.

“The old roses have definitely had their day, and the planting of the new ones will ensure that we have some vibrant colours for everyone to enjoy.

“We are committed to making sure all of our parks in Nuneaton and Bedworth are as attractive as possible, for both our residents and visitors to our Borough.’’
