Discover the Museum’s collection of baking and cookery related objects at their ‘Hands on History’ event ‘A Baker’s Dozen’ on Saturday, 18 October.
On display will be a baker’s dozen (or thirteen) objects chosen to explore the history of baking and illustrate how the availability of ingredients has changed over the years.
Visit the museum to find out why a baker’s dozen became thirteen and to browse recipe books of days gone by.
Will these items evoke nostalgia or maybe provide baking inspiration this National Baking Week?
The sessions are free and there is no need to book. Drop in anytime between 11:00am and 3:15pm in the White Gallery.
Cllr Brady Hughes, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Health, said:
