To accompany the current Craftspace Made in the Middle Contemporary Craft Exhibition, the Museum is holding a special free event celebrating crafts and the art of making.
The event will take place at Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery on Saturday 11 October, 11am until 4pm.
Guarderobe will be back but this time they’ll be demonstrating the range of craft skills that they have perfected to create the equipment they use for their re-enactments. For example, you will be able to see how a spinning wheel is used to create yarn through demonstrations.
There’ll also be a chance for younger visitors to get hands on with modelling inspired by the pieces in the Craftspace Show.
Councillor Brady Hughes, Portfolio holder for Leisure and Health said:
“This is an ideal opportunity to find out more about how things were made through different times and celebrate the art of being creative whilst having lots of fun!”
Visitors can also enjoy the Museum’s “Strictly Morris” exhibition which looks at Morris Dancing and the history of the Anker Morris Men.
There’s lots to do and the event is suitable for all ages, all children should be accompanied by an adult.
While at the museum, why not check out the temporary exhibitions.
Admission is free though donations are always welcome.
