A community consultation to refresh the regeneration plan for Bedworth.
Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, on behalf of the Believe in Bedworth Neighbourhood Board have asked local charity, Warwickshire Community and Voluntary Action (CAVA), to undertake community consultation to refresh the regeneration plan for Bedworth.
Bedworth has been identified as one of the government’s 75 areas to receive an investment of £20 million over the next decade through its Plan for Neighbourhoods programme.
No one knows the priorities of the community better than those who live and work there, which is why CAVA have been asked to talk directly with residents about what is important to them, and the change they would like to see in their neighbourhoods.
CAVA has launched a survey to collect views, and are offering the opportunity to be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 shopping voucher to anyone that completes the survey by Friday, 3 October.
The team will also be out and about at events, community venues and businesses speaking to residents about how they feel the £20 million should be used over the next 10 years.
Paper copies of the survey can also be requested by emailing bib@wcava.org.uk, and if residents would like the team to come and talk to a bigger group then that can also be arranged.
Cllr Nicky King, Portfolio Holder for Business and Regeneration, said:
“We want as many people as possible to get involved and make their voices heard. This is an important time for Bedworth, and we want to do our upmost to get the plan right for the people who live and work in the town.
“We have appointed CAVA as a trusted partner to carry out this important consultation work and will ensure to keep the people of Bedworth updated on the suggestions put forward to ensure a cohesive plan for the future.”
Alison Thompson, Area Manager for CAVA, said:
“This is a massive opportunity for the people of Bedworth to get their voices heard.
“The Board is made up of residents, community groups, business owners and public sector partners, we are busy pulling together our vision for Bedworth over the next decade, so we want any many local people to contribute to this as possible.
“We are listening to your priorities and will keep communities informed every step of the way.”
