Replacement for wooden play fort at Bailey Park

Work to replace the wooden play fort within Bailey Park is due to commence tomorrow, 9 September.

The area surrounding the fort will be cordoned off for approximately three weeks while the work takes place, leaving the rest of the park open to the public.

The current fort has been in position for several years and is now showing signs of wear and tear.

Contractors will remove the fort and replace it with a new, three tower multi-unit made from metal which will provide a variety of enhanced play options for children.

Councillor Brady Hughes, Portfolio holder for Leisure and Health said:

“The old wooden play fort has seen a lot of use and now needs replacing. The new unit offers a good range of play opportunities and being made from metal should provide a lasting and robust replacement.

“We would like to ask park users for their patience whilst this essential work to enhance the play area is carried out and we will be sure to inform them of the progress.”
