
The Mayor of Nuneaton and Bedworth, councillors and officers of the Borough Council wish to express their sadness following the death of Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Kent.
The Union flag at Nuneaton Town Hall was flown at half-mast at the weekend to mark the Duchess’s passing.
Borough Mayor Cllr Bhim Saru said:
“Our thoughts and sympathies are with His Majesty the King and all members of the Royal Family at this sad time.
“The Duchess gave many years of public service to this country, often unrecognised, but always with dignity and her legacy will live on through people’s memories.’’
Nuneaton and Bedworth Council Leader Chris Watkins said:
“We send our condolences to the Royal Family following the death of the Duchess of Kent.
“Her contribution to charities and community organisations was inspiring along with her dedicated service and many years of quiet commitment to public life.’’
The funeral of Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Kent will take place at Westminster Cathedral on Tuesday, 16 September.
