The work, carried out by Severn Trent Water will cause some disruption at the Sandon Park site.
Severn Trent has informed Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council they are undertaking ground investigations at Sandon Park and Church Lane from Monday 8 September.
The company does not require a licence from the Council as they hold powers from the Water Industry Act 1991 to undertake the works.
The trail holes form part of the investigation and survey works for the installation of a new sewer main which they hope to undertake next year.
The work will not affect this season’s fixtures for Ambleside Junior Football Club.
Cllr Brady Hughes, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Health, said:
“The contractors undertaking the works will try to cause as little disturbance and inconvenience as possible.
“Officers from the Parks team and representatives of Ambleside Junior Football Club have had correspondence with Severn Trent about the project previously and will continue to do so.''
