Punch and Judy

Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery is getting into the summer holiday spirit with exhibitions inspired by travelling and the seaside.

Families can enjoy a range of child friendly activities running from 11:00am to 3:00pm over August including:

  • Make your own Punch and Judy show on Thursday, 21 August
  • Make your own sunglasses on Friday, 22 August
  • Make a train bookmark on Thursday, 28 August
  • Make your own fun camera on Friday, 29 August

After the activities, families can visit the Yellow Gallery to see artwork of over 40 contemporary travel posters by artist Nicky Thompson. The exhibition titled 'The Art of Travel' celebrates the golden age of travel and runs until 20 September.

Nicky Thompson said:

“I am delighted to be exhibiting at Nuneaton Museum and Art Gallery.

“It’s a lovely space and a wonderful opportunity to take a little step back and see the artworks in a slightly wider context.

Alternatively, you might like to spend time in the Museum's other galleries or find out more about the rich history, from George Eliot and the Victorian era to the coal mines of the 20th century and the Gurkha soldiers.

Cllr Brady Hughes, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Health, said:

“The Museum is great, whether it be the history, art, or the fun activities which can engage people of all ages.

“It’s really important that we highlight how wonderfully important the Museum is and how much value it brings to the borough."

While at the Museum why not check out the temporary exhibitions.

Admission is free though donations are always welcome.
