Landowners and developers are being asked to come forward with sites that may be suitable for future development within the Borough.

Whilst Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council is currently at examination with its Borough Plan Review, it is also taking proactive steps to move forward with its new Local Plan.

Following the publication of the Government’s updated National Planning Policy Framework in December 2024, the Local Plan will guide development over the coming years.

The Council is asking for sites of 0.25 hectares or above that could be used for future development uses, these include:

  • Housing (such as market, affordable, older persons and gypsy and traveller accommodation)
  • Employment (such as offices, warehouses and industrial)
  • Retail (such as convenience stores and supermarkets)
  • Social Infrastructure (such as community centres, green space and schools)

All sites submitted will be subject to a detailed assessment to establish their suitability, availability and achievability in meeting the future needs of the Borough.

All sites should be submitted by completing the online form. Alongside this form, a site plan should be submitted so that the site can be identified appropriately.

It is important that as much information as possible relating to the site is provided to allow for an effective assessment.

The call for sites will run from 18 August 2025 until 29 September 2025 and further information on the call for sites process can be found on the Council’s website.

Sites submitted during the 2024 Call for Employment Sites do not need to be resubmitted unless the promoters of these sites would like them to be considered for alternative land uses.

Any sites submitted prior to the 2024 Call for Employment Sites, need to be resubmitted in order to be considered going forward.
