Nicky Thompson’s retrospective show, The Art of Travel, opens at Nuneaton Museum & Gallery on Saturday, 12 July, and runs until Saturday, 20 September.
The show will feature over 40 contemporary travel posters created by Nicky Thompson that evoke the golden age of travel.
These artworks span projects for a diverse range of clients including London Zoo, The National Piers Society, Chester Zoo, Cheshire Life, The Wildlife Trust, The Fylde Coast, Chester Races and various rail companies across the UK.
Nicky said:
“I am delighted to be exhibiting at the Nuneaton Museum and Gallery.
“It’s a lovely space and a wonderful opportunity to take a little step back and see the artworks in a slightly wider context.’’
Cllr Brady Hughes, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture, said:
“We are delighted to have Nicky’s fabulous work in our gallery, and we are particularly pleased that the show coincides with the Railway 200 celebrations this year.
“With the school holidays approaching, do take the opportunity to visit the museum and see some of the wonderful displays.’’
