Partnership set to gain crucial first-hand insights into issues that the local community and businesses face and help provide solutions.
A partnership that includes the Warwickshire Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), Philip Seccombe, Police Inspector Ryan Walker, Nuneaton MP Jodie Gosling, and Nuneaton Councillor Nicky King is set to take part in monthly walkabouts to gain crucial first-hand insights into issues that the local community and businesses face and help provide solutions.
The first walkabout will take place at 10:00am on Wednesday, 25 June, at the Nationwide Building Society on Bridge Street in Nuneaton.
The walks will last for approximately one hour and afterwards members of the community and businesses are invited to meet with the partnership, alongside the newly appointed Nuneaton BID Town Safety Team, at the Palace Café Bar on Newdigate Street for an informal chat.
The partnership, that is hoping to be rolled out in Bedworth in the near future, will document any concerns highlighted and take them to a strategic board where tactics will be put in place to create improvements and target resources to the areas in need.
Inspector Ryan Walker, neighbourhood policing lead for Nuneaton and Bedworth, said:
“These regular events will give us an excellent opportunity to listen to what matters most to local people and businesses and let them know what we are doing to address issues in the town.
“Please take the opportunity to come and talk to us and let us know what we’re doing well and what can be improved.”
Nuneaton MP, Jodie Gosling, said:
"These walkabouts are a fantastic opportunity for us to maintain and strengthen our positive relationships with businesses.
“Our high streets and independent traders are the backbone of our community, and it’s vital that we support them by listening, understanding their challenges, and acting on their concerns.
“Just as importantly, we’re working together to ensure that Nuneaton becomes a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
“Working closely with those who care about our town, jobs and businesses will boost both safety and economic vitality and I’m proud to be part of this partnership driving positive change."
Cllr Nicky King, Portfolio holder for Business and Regeneration added:
“We are taking this opportunity to progress with the regeneration of our towns in a way that aligns with our communities, and are committed that through this partnership approach, we will be able to truly listen and target our actions in the areas that matter the most to our business and residents.”
