The gym at Pingles Leisure Centre in Nuneaton is to temporarily close to allow for essential improvement works to take place.
These works are part of the ongoing efforts to improve the centre’s infrastructure, with specific focus on structural enhancements, decarbonisation measures and the installation of new air handling systems.
The gym will be subject to two closures from:
- Monday, 2 June, reopening at 8:00am on Wednesday, 4 June
- Monday, 16 June, reopening at 8:00am Wednesday, 18 June
During this time, the Leisure Pool will still not be operational due to the ongoing works to the steel columns, however other facilities at the Pingles will remain accessible as usual, and those with subscriptions will still be able to use the gyms at nearby Jubilee Sports Centre and Bedworth Leisure Centre.
While the closure of the gym is temporary, the improvements will support the long-term sustainability of the Pingles Leisure Centre, with the upgrades crucial to ensuring safety, energy efficiency, and comfort for facilities users.
Cllr Brady Hughes, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Health, said:
“We understand the closure during this period can be inconvenient for gym-goers, but these essential works are necessary to improve the centre’s environmental performance.
“We are committed to delivering modern facilities that support healthy lifestyles in the borough, and we thank the gym’s users for their understanding during the closure periods.”
