Festival of Arts - Art Section
Published on Monday, 23rd January 2017
28 January – 26 February 2017 at Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery. This annual favourite includes artwork by both children and adults, and includes sections such as Landscape, Fantasy and Watercolours.
This year there is also a special ‘100 years of Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery Section’. This section will include work submitted for ‘The Museum Centenary Cup’, launched this year to celebrate the Museum’s 100th anniversary. The cup is to be awarded to a piece of work, from across all of the categories shown at the Museum, which best reflects the centenary of the Museum – as voted for by visitors. Visit the show to have your say and support the work you think most deserves a chance to win. There’ll also be great chances to buy great artwork at very reasonable prices!
For other prizes, entries will be judged by adjudicator Sandra Owens. Sandra is a Nuneaton-based artist and designer-maker. She uses a range of materials including ceramics, wood and acrylic paint to create abstract textured wall panels and mixed media paintings. Sandra exhibits across the UK including in London, Manchester and Coventry.
Cllr Ian Lloyd, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture said;
“Festival of Arts is a big favourite within the Borough. Help us celebrate all of the hard work and local artistic talent in the area by popping along to this great show.”
Remember, as with all our shows, admission is FREE and there are also our other displays to enjoy throughout the building.
In addition to our events, activities and permanent displays there is still chance to see Kunjan Thankey: Following Every Possibility, on show until February 12th.
