Healthier Communities Grant Scheme - Funding Opportunity

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council and Public Health Warwickshire have jointly committed to create the Healthier Communities Grant, making £30,000 available in total.
The Healthier Communities Grant can be used to fund community based projects to support the following priorities of the Warwickshire North Delivery Group:
- Tackling Health Inequalities: including projects aimed at reducing the rise in obesity in children and adults; reducing teenage pregnancy and conception rates reducing alcohol related harm and increasing Health Check promotions
- Increasing physical activity: particularly in priority areas (e.g. super output areas); with those less physically active
- Improvement in quality of life: especially for those with a mental illness; those with Dementia or their carers
Applications for funding are being accepted from community groups and organisations throughout the Borough, and should be submitted by the deadline, Monday 6th February 2017
Councillor Longden, Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Health and Environment said:

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council and Warwickshire County Council share the same health and wellbeing outcomes for their communities ensuring that local needs are being met and health inequalities are reduced. The Healthier Communities Grant fund will allow us to work together to build capacity and empower the voluntary sector to deliver short term health improvement initiatives”
