Work will soon be getting under way at Marlborough Road and Attleborough Recreation Grounds and Sorrell Road Community Park.

Work is expected to start on Monday, 3 February, and be completed by the end of the month.
Sorrell Road Community Park will have new play areas put in place for younger and older children, outdoor gym equipment, new bins and benches, a re-marked ball court surface, and a new path network.

Cllr Tim Jenkins, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Communities and Health, said:
“It is fantastic that three of our popular recreation grounds are all having a series of major improvements carried out.
“We fully recognise the importance of green spaces for our Borough’s residents and when this work is completed we will have superb facilities to benefit everyone.’’
A spokesperson for HTC Big Local said:
“HTC Big Local has been funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, where it has seen over £1m invested in Hill Top and Caldwell over the last 10 years. Its main aim has been to make the area an even better place to live.
“Since the beginning, residents have told us they wanted to see activities for young people be a priority and improvements to their green spaces, so we are really pleased to be able to invest £100,000 into rejuvenating Sorrel Road Park.
“It is a great legacy for Big Local, and we're excited to see the new facilities being used by even more residents."
