Join us at Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery on 16 November to remember the two World Wars with the ‘Hands on History’ session, Let Us Remember.
We will be exploring how objects from the First and Second World Wars can help us remember the past through sight, smell, and touch.
There will be a fascinating opportunity to handle some original World War artefacts, including a British Army officer's field service boots from the First World War, a field telephone set, and other commemorative items.
The sessions are free, and there is no need to book. Drop in anytime on between 10:30am and 3:30pm in the Picture Gallery.
Cllr Tim Jenkins, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Communities and Health said:
"The Museum’s handling sessions allow visitors to feel objects of real history in their hands.
"This is a rare opportunity to handle some original World War artefacts, which can help us to remember our fallen and offer a poignant, human connection across the years to the brave people who gave their service.”
While at the museum why not check out our temporary exhibitions?
‘Wild Winter’ a touring exhibition from Blue Tokay, brings together wildlife photography and science to encourage visitors to think about animals adapted to live in harsh winter environments.
‘A Lifetime of Art’ by local artist Melvyn Gunn showcases a variety of works through different mediums such as watercolours, photography, computer-aided designs, and collage.
