Published on Tuesday, 20th September 2016

A major new business support service has been launched in Nuneaton and Bedworth with the aim of helping local enterprises flourish.

Small and medium sized firms can get advice on starting up or helping their established business grow.

Two drop-in events are taking place in Warwickshire over the coming weeks following an earlier launch held in Coventry in June.

The Coventry and Warwickshire Business Support Programme is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund with further support from Warwickshire County Council and Coventry City Council.

The events will provide information from a range of experienced specialist providers who are delivering the programme as well as four taster sessions covering:

  • Thinking of Starting a Business
  • Access to Finance
  • Top Tips for Business Planning
  • Introduction to Social Media

The events take place on:

  • September 22 between 7:30am and 10:30am at Leamington Town Hall, CV32 4AT
  • October 13 between 7:30am and 10:30am at the Memorial Hall, Atherstone, CV9 1AX

Additionally, at the Atherstone event, rural businesses can find out more about the North Warwickshire and Hinckley & Bosworth Leader project which offers grants of £2500 to £25000 to help rural businesses grow.

Dennis Harvey, Leader of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, said: “The expert help and advice that the Coventry and Warwickshire Business Support Programme provides will help local businesses grow and flourish.

“The drop-in sessions taking place are a must for anyone with a good idea for a new business or an existing firm that needs that extra push.”

Jonathan Browning, Chairman of the Coventry & Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “This is a major programme which will look at all areas of the economy across Coventry and Warwickshire. The Growth Hub was established by the LEP to drive forward the economy by helping companies achieve their potential by overcoming barriers to growth.

“The three-year the Coventry and Warwickshire Business Support Programme will help us support more businesses in that aim. Our businesses advisers are best placed to signpost the most valuable and relevant support which allow companies to cut through much of the legwork and access help quickly and in a way that best suits their needs.”
