A walrus, one of the creatures featured in the display

The display, about how wildlife copes with winter, combines stunning photographs with scientific information, runs at the Riversley Park building until Sunday, 10 November.

Created by Blue Tokay, it is brand new, and this is its world premiere with images including a polar bear, bats, snow monkey, weasel and a weddell seal amongst other creatures.

Visitors can also see objects from the museum’s collections which look at how humans keep warm, including items from the museum’s Inuit collections.

Younger visitors can dress up for the cold, have a go at a world jigsaw and enjoy colouring activities.

Cllr Tim Jenkins, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Communities and Health, said:

“It is fantastic that we are the first gallery to show this fabulous exhibition.

“This is a great exhibition to visit, as the season changes, to discover how our wonderful wildlife adapts to the challenges of winter.”

As with all the shows, admission is free, though donations are always welcomed, and there are also several temporary exhibitions to enjoy throughout the building.
